The evening kicked off with four mini sessions, each showing us an interesting technique. Leeann showed us how the Accuquilter worked.
Lynn showed many, many good ways to do flying geese.
Colleen showed how to do scalloped bindings.
And Jill showed us Susie's Magic Binding which a number of us knew from Christa Marcotte's blog.
That made me realize I did this Hallowe'en wall hanging last year using the magic binding technique. I got out my decorations this morning as my grandson is coming for Thanksgiving and he'll enjoy them.
This is another of mine ... my wall hanging for my newly painted bathroom.
Here's the first show and tell of the evening. Welcome to our guild, Charlene. We think your grandson is a charmer.
What a cosy blanket!
Yvonne has a new bag.
Esther produced excellent results in the beginners' class.
Sharynne showed cross stitch which took hundreds of hours.
Eva has been busy!
She's so lucky to have quilting sisters. One made these embroidered designs for each sister and each turned them into something. Eva made hers into a bag.
Here's a pillow with all the sisters pictured on it.
The back shows the sisters with their mom and the fabric around is from their mother's clothing.
Leah learned paper piecing at a home ec conference. Yay! Another convert!
Jaynie has a new treasure which she got by swapping one of her pieces at the Fibre Art Network weekend in Edmonton.
