Call the Lumberyard! We're Stitching Carpenters' Wheels

On Saturday, March 9th, our scrappy (scrappy as is fabrics, not scrappy as in confrontational) teacher Jill presented Year 2 of scrappy quilts.  After two years, it's an annual event, isn't it, Jill?  After all no one said, "oh, yes, I am out of scraps" did they?
We sewed a bit...

... cut and pressed a bit ....
 ... colored and planned ...
... stitch ripped ...

... and stitch ripped some more ...
... got advice ...
... compared fabrics ...
... laughed a lot...
... got organized ...
... and saw our projects emerging.

I wish I could take the next two classes (Vera's applique and the New York Beauty one), partly for the knowledge gained but mainly for the quilting camaraderie.  I can take Jaynie's, thank heavens.  Don't miss the chance
to take Crocus classes, ladies.  They are terrific days.

  1. Thanks for getting this on so quickly Brenda. I can't wait to see your version of the Carpenter's wheel as it might be the scrappiest one!

    1. Glad I put the center up on the wall and photographed it. My light colors were too light for the center; they'll be fine somewhere else in the quilt. I've got everything squared up so can start piecing.

    1. This year we are using one of the classrooms at Queen Elizabeth School. We have used the Community Room at the Credit Union, our regular meeting place at Grace United Church and other schools.

  3. Great job...wishing I would have signed up now. When is Vera's applique and is it full? And who had to sit in the hallway? Was she having a time out!

  4. Talked to Vera ... she doesn't think the class is full. Phoned Jill to find out for sure and will wait until she gets back to me; the class is this Saturday. Jill didn't relegate any of us to the hallway for bad behavior! Yvonne and a few others moved their sewing machines out there to be closer to their design walls.

  5. Hi Christa The Appliqué class is this Saturday March 16th at QE school. I don't think it is full but your best bet is to check with Vera Osborn 842-5723. Vera was making kits for the class so she would need to know if anyone else was coming. The cost is $40 for non members.

  6. Oops looks like Brenda and I replied at the same time. I am in Saskatoon so don't have the class binder with me but I don't think anyone else has signed up since the meeting last week .
