A Quilty, Winter Night - Guild on March 4th, 2014

A small but mighty group gathered to Tuesday night to see some beautiful work and to hear a lot about the organization of our May quilt show.  The quilt show committee is doing a great job.

People seem to be scoffing the idea that I NEED to have our "Canadian Quilter" magazine first so that I can catalogue it for the library.  Skeptics, I say!

Here's the show and tell:

Eileen's beautiful quilt says spring is coming!
Marg has been ticking UFOs off her list.

This cute snowman one might be appropriate to hang at the library in May the way the weather has been.

Debbie has been working of Christmas gifts for 2014.  I wonder how many of us are working on Christmas gifts for 2013!  LOL
Sharon showed these cross-stitched pictures with old Singer machines in them.  Beautiful and priceless.
Jaynie had show AND tell.  Her "show" is this beautiful piece.

And her "tell" is absolutely marvelous news.  The piece she showed us two months ago has been accepted into the juried Quilt Canada show which will be in St. Catherines in June.  Jaynie, we are so proud of your accomplishment.

Joanne had a photo of a baby quilt she made.

Donna has a big grin on her face thanks to Lydia.
Like Eileen's quilt, Verla's hanging says spring.
Our raffle quilt for the show is ready and members could take books of tickets to sell.  It should be an easy sell.

Our "poverty piecers" (Remember that term from Judy Morningstar?) didn't let leftover fabric go to waste as they used the leftovers to create the back.
Guild isn't just inspiration; it is also friendly chatter.
There are lessons too.  Here Colleen is setting up a video about layering your quilt on a table.
This next photo is totally in the wrong place.  Oh, well!  Fire me!  These cute potholders are part of Debbie's Christmas sewing.  I wonder how I can be added to her list.
See you next month!
